During the tour, the students will discover the different ways the plants adapt to various conditions i.e. water shortage, extreme heat…, stimulating their interest in the world of nature and its evolution.

Students will also take part in a workshop, depending on the educational level:

                For SCHOOLS:

  • If the students are from INFANT SCHOOL, a workshop of drawing on pots will be done, accompanied by an infant monitor, in which they will plant themselves a spineless cactus, as well as view a projection in which they will learn various curiosities of these plants, and a guided tour through the garden and the greenhouse. Their work can be taken home with them. Breakfast maybe supplied if required or students can bring their own pack lunch. This tour has an estimated time of 3 hours, starting at 10.00 and finishing at 13.00. Price without breakfast: 5 per student. With breakfast (milk shake / juice + ham and cheese sandwich or similar) 6.50€.

  • If the students are from PRIMARY SCHOOL: guided tour to the garden and the green house, planting a cactus (that they will be able to take with them), a video will be showing related to the topic at hand with explanation from the curator of the collection and games afterwards (q&a's, treasure hunting...) with prizes for the winners. Breakfast maybe supplied if required or students can bring their own pack lunch. This tour has an estimated time of 3 and a half hours, starting at 10.00 and finishing at 13.30.                  For HIGH SCHOOL:

  • Students from HIGH SCHOOL: we propose a tour of the cacti Garden and greenhouse, guided by our curator. Following that, breakfast, their own or supplied by our cafeteria. We will continue with a guided tour to the Mizos Mill, antique oil mill that still preserves the machinery from the 19th century, as well as several tools related with olive grinding. The student will learn the ancient techniques in oil pressing, such as chute, maquila, or hod. If we are in pressing season, the tour will be instead to a modern oil mill where the students can see the whole process of the grinding in situ turning the olive into oil. Entertaining and instructive. These tours have and estimated time of 4 hours, starting at 9.30 or 10.00. The price without breakfast is 5 per student and with breakfast (milk shake / juice / soft drink + ham and cheese sandwich or similar) 6.50€
